When the Tinkle Gets Tough, the Tough Get ‘Em Tinkling: How to Manage Complex Feline Urethral Obstruction

In this lecture, we will examine the less common complications of a common disease, feline urethral obstruction. We will discuss the management of hyperkalemia, post obstructive diuresis, uroabdomen, urethral tear, and patients that you struggle to catheterize. We will discuss the mechanisms behind atrial standstill and how to manage it, and why some hyperkalemic patients may in fact be tachycardic.
