Veterinarians

Next Renewal Date: November 1, 2026

Renewal Frequency: Annually on November 1. CE is reported every even-numbered year.

Total Required CE: 20 hours every 2 years.

Required Subjects: CE must relate directly to the scope of veterinary practice. Practice management CE may account for no more than 25% of the total requirement (5 hours).

Allowed Online: Up to 10 hours may be completed through non-interactive online courses.

Interactive Required: At least 10 hours must be completed in an in-person or interactive format. Live online CE that allows back-and-forth interaction with the presenter can satisfy this requirement, including ZukuCE.

Record Retention: CE documentation must be retained for one year following the renewal cycle reporting period. Documentation must include the licensee's name, course title and content description, presenter or sponsor, course dates, and number of CE hours earned.

Audit Information: The Board may randomly audit up to 50% of renewed licensees for CE compliance. Licensees must make their CE records available upon Board request.

Additional Information: The 20 CE hours must be earned during the 24-month period before the November 1 renewal in each even-numbered year. CE requirements do not apply until a licensee's first full year of licensure; licensees who have been licensed for more than one year but less than two years must complete 10 hours.

Renewal Frequency: Annually on November 1. CE is reported every even-numbered year.

Total Required CE: 20 hours every 2 years.

Required Subjects: CE must be relevant to professional practice. Practice management CE may account for no more than 25% of the total requirement (5 hours).
