Veterinarians
Next Renewal Date: June 30, 2027
Renewal Frequency: Every 2 years
Total Required CE: 40 hours
Required Subjects: None
Allowed Online: 40 hours (no more than 20 may be hours non-live/asynchronous)
Interactive Required: At least 20 of the 40 required CE hours must be completed in person or through live/interactive instruction. Nevada permits live and distance-interactive online courses to satisfy this requirement. Zuku CE is RACE-approved, and Zuku’s live, interactive online CE can be used toward Nevada’s interactive CE requirement. Up to 20 hours may be completed through non-live distance learning or correspondence courses.
Record Retention: Veterinarians must retain documentation of completed continuing education for 4 years after completion of the CE hours. Licensees attest to CE compliance when renewing their licenses.
Audit Information: The Nevada State Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners may randomly audit licensees for CE compliance. If selected for an audit, a licensee must provide the requested CE documentation within 30 days of receiving written notice from the Board. Documentation should identify the licensee, CE hours awarded, description of the CE activity, and the date and location of the course or meeting.
