Veterinarians
Next Renewal Date: June 30, 2027
Renewal Frequency: Every two years (June 30 of odd-numbered years)
Total Required CE credits: 20 hours
Required Subjects: At least 17 hours in surgery, medicine, or dentistry; no more than 4 hours in business management; at least 1 hour on prescription opioid drugs, including the risks and signs of opioid abuse, addiction, and diversion.
Allowed Online: Up to 5 hours of self-study may be completed online through RACE-approved providers, including ZukuCE.
Record Retention: Four Years
Audit Information: Licensees may be selected for a continuing education audit and must provide documentation of completed CE upon request.
Additional Information: Veterinarians who receive their initial license during the second year of the biennial renewal period are only required to complete 10 continuing education hours for their first renewal.
